Does laser hair removal work on all skin types?
Yes. The Clarity II has two wavelengths (755nm and 1064nm) that adapt to every phototype, from very light to very dark skin (Fitzpatrick I to VI). It is one of the only lasers in the world to offer this versatility.
How many sessions are needed?
On average, 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart achieve a permanent reduction of 80 to 95% of hair. The exact number depends on the area, the hair type and your hair growth cycle.
Is it painful?
The Clarity II integrates a cryogenic cooling system that protects the skin and considerably reduces discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a light tingling, far less painful than waxing.
How long does a session last?
It depends on the area. Underarms take about 5 to 10 minutes, half legs 20 minutes. The Clarity II is up to 2 times faster than conventional lasers thanks to its IntelliTrak™ technology.
Which areas of the body can be treated?
All areas: face, underarms, arms, bikini (regular, Brazilian, full), legs, back, chest, stomach, buttocks and more. We treat both women and men.
Is there any recovery time?
None. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. Slight redness may appear and usually fades within a few hours. That said, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for 24 hours, not doing intense physical exercise (sweating) for 24 hours and avoiding any exfoliation for 3 days so as not to stress the skin.
What is the difference between the Clarity II and other lasers?
The Clarity II combines two wavelengths in a single device, has a built-in cooling system (no gel), and IntelliTrak™ technology for even coverage. It is the most versatile and most advanced laser available in Canada.

Safety and supervision of your laser treatment
The same person assesses your skin and operates the laser
Your laser treatment at Institut V Esthetique is performed by Alexandra Vivanco, founder and lead esthetician, who has practiced esthetics since 2018 and operates the Clarity II laser herself.
Alexandra holds a DEP in esthetics obtained at École Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry in 2018 and a Cynosure certification on the Clarity II laser obtained in 2024. Laser consultations and laser treatments are her daily focus: skin analysis, choosing the wavelength based on phototype, adjusting the device and following up on results.
In practice, this supervision means that the person who assesses your phototype during the consultation is the same one who sets and operates the laser during the session.
